Coffin Match - Darby Allin vs Brody King

Brody King has his face painted and Darby comes out of nowhere while its dark to attack him. Darby hits him with a tack skateboard then rubs it in his head. Brody start to bleed and drops Darby with a forearm after he misses a skateboard shot. Darby is then thrown over a table. Brody breaks the skateboard then Darby jumps on him and bangs his head off a rail and the steps. Darby hits a top rope sunset bomb.

Darby is driven into the rails and chopped down on the floor. The blood is seriously pouring from Brody's head then Darby is thrown into the rails. Darby is then thrown over the rails. Brody misses a splash from the 2nd rope and goes through a table outside. The lights go out and Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews appear out there. Julia Hart trips Darby then Black and Buddy beat up Darby. Buddy hits a spinning half-nelson slam on Darby. Brody cannonballs Darby through a table in the corner.

Buddy opens up the ladder and Sting is inside with some new black facepaint over where he was misted. He hits Buddy with the bat and throws him into the steps. Sting gives Black his bat and Black won't hit him. Black walks up the ramp, Sting follows then Darby topes Brody. Sting and Black go face to face on the ramp and Darby is slammed on the steps.

Darby chokes Brody with his own chain necklace. Brody gets choked out from the apron, falls and rolls into the coffin which closes.

The match started off well but fell apart when the HoB and Sting got involved. It didn't make sense why Sting gave Black the bat, why Black didn't hit Sting and why Black didn't help his man win after already interfering. All of this also took away from the match, which hurt it.

Jon Moxley did a promo. He said the AEW Interim title should be the FYI belt and said the title is about how much pain you can endure. He says he will test Jericho's fighting spirit and push it to its breaking point tonight. He said if Jericho's fighting spirit doesn't break, his body will.

Chris Jericho does a promo in old gear, looking much younger. He says he will be WCW champion. He says Stu Hart put him through a lot of pain in the Hart Dungeon. He said he will stretch Mox and says he will be the next AEW champ.

They talk about the Trios Title Tournament and show a tournament graphic before I could read it.

Tornado Tag Match - Rush and Andrade el Idolo vs The Lucha Brothers

This was supposed to be under lucha rules, but this is definitely not it as there are just no tags. Penta is also not Penta Oscuro here as they say he is returning to his lucha roots. 

The Bros were choked early here and Rush hit a flying forearm. Fenix took an overhead belly to belly into the buckles then Penta hit a sling blade on him. Rush throws his shirt at Penta then spinning forearms him. Penta totally misses a superkick on him then Fenix topes Rush. Fenix flip topes Andrade then Penta hits a made in Japan on Rush.

Fenix comes off the top and is dropkicked by Andrade then Penta takes a powerslam. Fenix gets double hiptossed into the ropes and flipped for 2. Andrade and Rush tope con hilo their opponents. Penta ddt's Rush then Fenix walks up the ropes with Andrade's arm and hurricanrana's Rush. Penta goes up and over in the corner and codebreakers andrade. Penta then rolls Fenix into Andrade from the wheelbarrow position. Fenix is popped up and jumps off of Penta's shoulders for a splash on Rush.

Andrade and Rush are superkicked then both are tope con hilo'd. Fenix top rope frogsplashes Andrade but Andrade gets his knees up. Andrade accidentally superkicks Rush then Penta superkicks Andrade. Rush shotgun dropkicks Penta. Fenix double jumps but is powerbombed by Rush then Penta rolls into a cutter on Rush. Penta canadian destroyers Andrade on the apron. Fenix walks the top rope but is shaken off then Rush headbutts Fenix.

Andrade elbow slices Fenix then Rush ties Penta's mask to the middle rope. Andrade helps with that. Rush 2nd rope dropkicks Fenix then straightjacket piledrivers him. Penta gets his mask off so he isn't tied to the rope and he is wearing facepaint. Alex throws a mask for Penta in but it is thrown into the stands. The fans chant for it to be thrown back. Rush dropkicks Fenix in the face next to the 2nd rope then Fenix is ddt'd for the Andrade and Rush win.

They did way too much here as expected without that much selling. The canadian destroyer on the apron not being the finish was particularly absurd.  This had absolutely nothing to do wiht lucha and I don't know why it was promoted as much.

The Bucks are asked who their partner will be for the trios tournament. They see the Dark Order in the locker room. The Bucks thank Page for saving them and suck up to him. They say the best time of their lives were when they were together with Omega I think. The Bucks said things have gotten weird since AEW started and they apologize. 

The Bucks ask Page to be their partner for the trios tournament and Page declines. Page says the Dark Order have been with him all this time and says he needs to hav their back the way they have had his. He said he will be in the corner of the Dark Order. Cutler offers to be the Bucks' partner and they get mad.

Luchasaurus vs Anthony Henry

Lucha's a face now but still wearing black. Lucha lariats him then release germans him. Henry hits a step up enzugiri then takes a headbutt and a reverse F-U for the quick Lucha win in a squash.

Christian appears on the tron and golf claps, saying it was an impressive win. JB was at the booth and goes after him as security stops him. Lucha then beats up security and staff.

Miro says Malakai Black has dragged him into the dark and made changes. Julia Hart walks in and tells him to embrace the dark. Miro says he's not interested in her. He says he accepts the gift but says his path is to wreck the House of Black.

Hobbs is interviewed and The Factory walks in. They said they will sprinkle the rest of Starks' crumbs and says Hobbs doesn't need to worry about him. They said they will take care of Starks. Hobbs says not to let their problems become his.

Lethal, Singh and Dutt brag about beating up Wardlow at Battle of the Belts. They say they are not done with Wardlow. They say they will come and find Wardlow if he doesn't defend against Lethal again. Wardlow comes out, agrees and says he is whooping all three of them. FTR then comes out. Lethal goes for a cheap shot and gets nailed, then the rest of his crew backs off.

Tony Schiavone interviews the JAS. Menard says history will be made tonight. Parker talk about a celebration party toniht and Garcia says he owns Danielson. Anna JAS then chokes out some girl watching.

We see clips from Starks where he says he will run through Solo and the Factory and continue on his own.

Ricky Starks vs Aaron Solo

They punch flurry each other early then Starks lariats him. Starks hits a back body drop then Solo lariats Starks. Cole Karter is kicked out. Starks hits punches on Solo then chinbreakers him. Starks tornado ddt's Solo the running facekicks him. Solo reverses a roshambo attempt then Starks spears him for the win in a quick one.

It was real short but okay for what it was.

The Factory come out and Nick Comoroto has a chair. He charges at Starks and is spinebustered. Solo is thrown into Comorto and then Starks runs out like an old lady.

Hobbs breaks a TV monitor in the back.

The Gunn Club are interviewed. Billy is mad his sons lost in the dumpster match. Stokeley Hathaway walks in and makes old jokes at billy. Billy tells him he is about to have a bad day as Stokeley hands the Gunns his card. Danhausen and someone else then walk in as Billy talks about a match he set up for them.

Best Friends are interviewed and The Trustbusters walk in. Parker Boudreaux is one of them. Aria Daivari says he wants to bring OC to super stardom. OC declines and Aria says he will learn what happens to people who say no to him.

TBS Title - Jade Cargill vs Madison Rayne

They stare down and Jade pats her on the head. Jade runs into the middle buckle and is dropkicked off the 2nd buckle from Rayne. Rayne hurricanrana's her on the floor. They go back in and Jade hits a stiff spear. Jade delay suplexes her.

Rayne hits forearms then a bad enzugiri. Rayne neckbreakers her and 2nd rope blockbusters her. Kiera Hogan gets on the apron, is grabbed and Jade pump kicks her own partner. Rayne rolls up Jade then is pump kicked. Rayne goes for a cross rhodes and takes a double chickenwing bomb and loses.

This wasn't anything special and Rayne was not very impressive for being the vet.

Athena goes after Jade from behind and hits her then Kiera pulls out Jade.

Toni Storm and Thunder Rosa are interviewed. Toni is told she is the #1 contender due to Kris Statlander being injured. Rosa says it is what it is and Toni says her goal is to become AEW women's champ. Rosa said they will talk about the title match later.

They announce that Rampage will have an intergender match and a Sonny Kiss match, so I will not even bother watching that one.

AEW Interim Title - Jon Moxley (c) vs Chris Jericho

Jericho came out to different music and wore his old WCW lionheart tights. They have about 28 minutes for this.

Jricho armdrags Mox early and celebrates. They collide with shoulders then Jericho takes him down into grounded armhold. Mox kicks him in the back then Jericho does the same. Jericho pulls off Mox's earring then Jericho springboard dropkicks Mox off the apron. Mox stats to bleed from the ear and Jericho punches the ear. Jericho camel clutches him and dropkicks him. Jericho backdrops him then Mox hits a lariat.

Mox fights back with strikes then Jericho double underhook backbreakers him. Jericho hits a lionsault for 2 then Mox goes for the armbar. Jericho sits on Mox's shoulder and pulls him arms back. Mox germans Jericho then Jericho germans him. Jericho hurricanrana's Mox off the top for 2. Jericho bangs Mox's leg off the post then figure fours him around the post. Mox crossfaces Jericho then Jericho boston crabs him for a very long time.

Jericho tries a springboard dropkick to Mox on the apron but ends up on the floor. Mox then top rope planchas him and pounds on him outside. Mox comes off the top and takes a codebreaker. Jericho hits shots on Mox. Sammy is in the crowd and throws a bat to Jericho then Jericho hits Mox with it. Somehow the ref doesn't see.

Jericho hits a judas effect for 2. Jericho tries to hit Mox wit hthe title and goes head first into the exposed buckle then Mox bulldog chokes him. Jericho puts him in a lion tamer then Mox grounded sleepers him. Jericho taps out and Mox wins it.

There was some good stuff here but they worked the boston crab for way too long and the ref not seeing blatant cheating was pretty bad. I didn't think it was a classic but it was a solid main event.

The JAS come down after and beat up Mox. The Blackpool Combat Club, Ortiz and Eddie Kingstone make the save, then the rest of the JAS come down. CM Punk then returns, cleaning house on the JAS. Jericho is clotheslined over the top .

Punk and Mox stare down face to face. Mox flips him off and walks out with Claudio. Punk celebrates and shows that he is okay now after injury.

Overall thoughts: Some of the matches did have issues, but they did go all out here to put on a good show, so I give them credit for that. The coffin match had issues but some good things to it and the main event was good.
